The 2009 Super Bowl winners have a tough schedule to beat in 2010 if they want to become repeat Super Bowl victors.

The Drew Brees-led New Orleans Saints got off to a mixed start in 2010 by winning their first two games (against the Minnesota Vikings and San Francisco 49ers), losing their third (against visiting team Atlanta Falcons), and winning their fourth (against the Carolina Panthers). Here is a look ahead at the rest of their regular season schedule.

October Football Schedule

The Saints' remaining October schedule is comprised of all Sunday afternoon games. Half the remaining four games will be played at home in the Superdome in New Orleans, with the first two games played on the road in Arizona and Florida.

  • Week 5: Sunday, October 10 – Away at Arizona Cardinals 4:05 PM ET on FOX
  • Week 6: Sunday, October 17 – Away at Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1:00 PM ET on FOX
  • Week 7: Sunday, October 24 – Home vs. Cleveland Browns 1:00 PM ET on CBS
  • Week 8: Sunday, October 31 – Home vs. Pittsburgh Steelers 8:20 PM ET on NBC

November Football Schedule

In November, the Saints' schedule lightens up, mainly due to their Bye Week in the middle of the month. Continuing on their away game streak, they'll travel to Charlotte to meet the Panthers for the second time this season. After a week off, they'll play the Seahawks at home in the Superdome, then travel to Dallas for a Thanksgiving afternoon showdown.

  • Week 9: Sunday, November 7 – Away at Carolina Panthers 1:00 PM ET on FOX
  • Week 10: Bye Week
  • Week 11: Sunday, November 21 – Home vs. Seattle Seahawks 4:05 PM ET on FOX
  • Week 12: Thursday, November 25 – Away at Dallas Cowboys 4:15 PM ET on FOX

December and January Football Schedule

Finishing up the regular season in December and January, the New Orleans Saints will travel the map with away games in Cincinnati, Baltimore and Atlanta. The team coached by Sean Payton will meet both the Rams and Buccaneers on their home turf to complete the regular season.

  • Week 13: Sunday, December 5 – Away at Cincinnati Bengals 1:00 PM ET on FOX
  • Week 14: Sunday, December 12 – Home vs. St. Louis Rams 4:05 PM ET on FOX
  • Week 15: Sunday, December 19 – Away at Baltimore Ravens 1:00 PM ET on FOX
  • Week 16: Monday, December 27 – Away at Atlanta Falcons 8:30 PM ET on ESPN
  • Week 17: Sunday, January 2 – Home vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1:00 PM ET on FOX

While many believe that the Saints will have a target on their back this season, it’s worth noting that only two Super Bowl champs have been unable to make the playoffs the following season—the 2003 Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the 2009 Steelers, according to Jon Star’s Bleacher Report.
